Oshawa stabbing victim en route to trauma centre

A man is on the way to hospital after he was stabbed in north Oshawa.

Durham Regional Police confirmed the attack on social media shortly after 11 a.m. on Aug. 22. They said their officers had responded to a stabbing near Dalhousie Cr. and Niagara Dr. The area is a block of houses just off of Simcoe St. The neighbourhood is primarily student rental housing for Durham College and Ontario Tech University students.

When officers responded they found a victim. Police have confirmed few details about them or their condition. The victim was en route to a Toronto trauma centre as of the last update. They have not provided a suspect description.

Investigators have advised residents to avoid the area for the time being. They said they will release more information as it becomes available.
