Oshawa sweeps five most affordable homes sold in September in Durham Region

Oshawa properties swept the board on a list of the least expensive homes sold in Durham Region in September, with condominium apartments in the city’s north end making up three of the five most affordable units sold last month.
Topping the list, compiled by real estate company Zoocasa, is a student apartment at 1900 Simcoe St. N, with the fully furnished bachelor (with a built-in bed) selling for $255,000 on September 29. The unit comes with a work station and television plus the required furniture, with a shared full kitchen provided on each floor.
At #2 is a one-bedroom condominium just down the street at 1800 Simcoe St. N., which comes with modern upgrades and ensuite laundry. The unit sold for $272,500.
Third on the list is a three-bedroom condo south of downtown at 454 Centre St. S., which sold for $352,500 September 17. The large apartment boasts 1,066 sq. ft. of living space plus a 40-foot balcony and comes with underground parking. Taxes are $1,876 per year, with maintenance fees at $877 per month.
Number four is a two-bedroom unit at 131 Taunton Rd. E. that sold September 18 for $417,500. Maintenance fees on this open concept apartment (with balcony) are $693 a month.
At #5 is a townhouse at 120 Nonquon Road that sold September 23 for $455,000. The three-bedroom unit comes with a small back yard and is the perfect blend of comfort, convenience and affordability.
