One of Oshawa’s iconic Olive Avenue rowhouses sold last month, with the tiny, two-story home selling for just $315,000, the third-most affordable home sold in Ontario in March and the most affordable in Durham Region.
The classic one-bedroom row house at 165 ½ Olive Avenue, located south of the city’s business district and featuring reserved parking – a rare find in the neighbourhood – sold March 18 for $40,000 over asking.

Oshawa swept all five of the most affordable homes sold in Durham in March, according to real estate firm Zoocasa, with a north-end condo near Taunton Road and Mary Street at 131 Taunton taking the second spot, releasing March 20 for $400,000. This one-bedroom unit boasts new quartz countertops, a fresh coat of paint and in-unit storage space.
At #3 was a one-bedroom condo in the city’s booming University District, with the apartment at 2550 Simcoe St. N selling on St. Patrick’s Day for $425,000. Number four on the list was a three-bedroom condo in the heart of the city at 55 William Street – an undervalued downtown building – that sold for $475,000.
