They went to high school in Pickering, live in Whitby and play the sport they love in Oshawa. And now a brother and sister combo are moving on up in the world of Canadian rugby, with dreams of national teams and travelling the world on behalf of their country.

No sibling rivalry here.

Justin Taylor, 18, a rookie flyhalf on the Durham College squad, has been selected to Canada’s U19 National Team, while sister Olivia, 17, was named to the National Rugby Development Academy.

For Olivia Taylor, a Grade 12 student at Dunbarton High School in Pickering, this is the second year she has been invited to train with the academy.

Both siblings play for the Oshawa Vikings rugby club.

With costs for the U19 Canada camp approaching $1,700 and the opportunity to play for the North American Barbarians at the Emirates International 7s in Dubai coming with a price tag of about $3,500, Justin Taylor has started a GoFundMe page – https://gofund.me/7cdf8ad3 – to help with the expenses.
