The City of Oshawa wants to hear from residents to help develop a 10-year Economic Development Strategy to drive investment in the city for the next decade.

Public feedback can also earn participants one of three $50 gift cards to a downtown restaurant or retailer.

The Oshawa Economic Development Strategy aims to provide a comprehensive community-focused plan that positions the city for success by growing and diversifying the local economy.

The strategy’s goal to provide flexibility as Oshawa’s economy diversifies further into knowledge-based sectors. Once developed, the strategy will be monitored for progress and adapted at the five-year strategy midway point with Council approval.

The public can participate by completing a feedback form online on Connect Oshawa (ConnectOshawa.ca/EconomicStrategy) or on paper at Service Oshawa at City Hall. They can also discuss the topic in-person with City staff at an Oshawa Economic Development Strategy community engagement table on Wednesday, September 13 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the CORE21 office at 21 Simcoe St. S.

Feedback will be received until noon Thursday, September 14 and will be presented to the Economic and Development Services Committee in November 2023.
