The fifth-ranked Ontario Tech men’s soccer team spotted Nipissing University a 1-0 early lead before coming back with two first half goals – the winner in the 45th minute – to secure the three points and the OUA East championship.

Andrew Misner gave the North Bay school the lead but Abdul Hamad in the 18th minute and freshman Adam Klimek at the end of the half provided all the offence the 11-1 squad would need and a strong defensive performance in the second half kept the Lakers from making a comeback.

York University, who inflicted Ontario Tech’s only loss this season, beat Western 1-0 Sunday in their final regular season to win the west with a 10-0-2 record. The Lions are ranked #1 in the nation.

Ontario Tech’s Chris Campoli finished as the league’s top scorer with 13 goals and six assists.
