Pair face 32 charges after gun and drugs found in Clarington

A pair from Bowmanville face more than 30 collective charges after police found guns and drugs during a raid.
Durham Regional Police with help from York Regional Police raided a home near Liberty St. and Baseline Rd. shortly after 12:30 a.m. The home sits on the southern end of Bowmanville just north of Hwy. 401. During the raid, officers say they found a handgun and “numerous” drugs including fentanyl and cocaine.
Acting on the same warrant, police also pulled over a car about 12 kilometres west near Trulls Rd. and Hwy. 2 in Courtice. Inside, police claim, a man had more drugs and another gun. Two people were arrested during the raids.
Daniel Therault, 39 of Bowmanville faces 22 charges for drug trafficking, illicit firearm possession, and breaching release orders. Natasha Piney, 38 of Bowmanville, is charged with 10 similar charges. Both remain in custody until a bail hearing.
