Parkwood Estate in Oshawa closed this week for movie production

Lovers of the history, the elegance and the smashingly good high teas at Parkwood Estate in Oshawa will have to wait until Sunday to get their nostalgia fix on as the popular former home of General Motors Canada founder Col. Sam McLaughlin is closed all week for movie production.
There are plenty of movie locations and full production houses popular with filmmakers in Durham Region but Parkwood is always a hot ticket for movie makers, especially for period pieces.
Parkwood closed to the public Tuesday and won’t re-open until Sunday due to on-site filming, which means the tours, grounds, gift shop and those legendary teas will be unavailable.
The name of the production is unknown.
The Parkwood staff apologized for the “inconvenience” and thanked its fans for their support and patience during the closure. “We are excited to welcome you all back very soon.”
Film crews were also on site this week on the Fourth Concession (hard on the Durham-York Townline), with production wrapping up today (Wednesday).
