Pedestrian struck by vehicle in Oshawa Thursday suffers serious injuries

A 40-year-old man suffered serious injuries when he was hit by a vehicle in Oshawa on Thursday evening.

The man was struck while walking at Taunton Road West and Northbrook Street on Thursday, Aug. 18 around 4:17 p.m., Durham Regional Police said. The driver of the vehicle was travelling eastbound on Taunton Road West when the collision occurred. The driver remained on scene and spoke to investigators.

The pedestrian was transported by ambulance to a Toronto-area trauma centre with serious injuries, police said.

The roads in the area were closed for several hours while police collected evidence.
