A photo exhibit that depicts the journeys and challenges of immigrants to Canada looking for work opens at Trent Durham GTA’s gallery in Oshawa Tuesday morning.

The ‘Take a Walk In My Shoes’ exhibit aims to bring together service providers, recruiters and policymakers to discuss the challenges immigrants face in finding employment and the opportunities that are available for them.

Dr. Scott Henderson, dean and head of Trent University Durham GTA and Dr. Marina Morgenshtern, associate professor of Social Work and lead researcher on this project, will join Allison Hector-Alexander, director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at the Region of Durham for remarks, a guided tour, and discussion roundtable with participants.

There will be photo opportunities and a chance to learn more about how the stories from recent immigrants can inform programming and policy in the region.

The opening event will be at 9:30 a.m. in the Building B Atrium at 55 Thornton Rd. S.

The exhibition will run until November 4.
