Pickering looking for public feedback on transit options to its waterfont

Pickering’s waterfront is a popular place and the City, along with Durham Region Transit (DRT) is trying to figure out just how popular it is.

Pickering is working with DRT to assess demand for public transit access to the Frenchman’s Bay area and is asking the public for feedback for its Transit Demand Survey.

Current DRT service options for Pickering’s Frenchman’s Bay area:

• The east side of Frenchman’s Bay is served by Route 101 Bay Ridges on weekdays (during morning and afternoon peak periods) with connections to the Pickering GO Station and Pickering Parkway Terminal. When this route is not operating, the DRT On Demand service is available with connections between stops within the zone, Pickering Parkway Terminal, and Pickering GO Station.
• The west side of Frenchman’s Bay is served by Route 120 Whites on weekdays (from 6 am – 10 pm) and weekends (from 7 am – 7 pm). When this route is not operating, overnight DRT On Demand service is available with connections to the Blue Night Network at Glenanna Road and Highway 2 and stops within Pickering.
• On the east side route, the closest stop to the waterfront along Liverpool Road is Krosno Boulevard, and the closest stop on the west side route is West Shore Boulevard and Oklahoma

As Pickering evolves, the waterfront continues to be a popular destination for residents, visitors, and businesses and in the hopes of making it an accessible, vibrant and a connected space for all, the City and DRT have launched the survey to collect feedback and better understand how the public uses, or would like to use, transit to get there.
