Motorcyclist dead after Tuesday night collision in Pickering

A 30 year-old Whitby man is dead following a motorcycle accident in Pickering Tuesday evening.
The man was travelling eastbound on Taunton Road at Sapphire Drive at 9 p.m. yesterday when a westbound Nissan sedan made a left turn into the motorcyclist’s path.
The rider suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Nissan remained at the crash site and cooperated with police.
Members of the DRPS Collision Investigation Unit attended to investigate and the roads in the area were closed for several hours while evidence was collected.
