A four-bedroom home in Uxbridge – the “epitome of luxury” – took the top spot as the most expensive home sold in Durham Region last month, with the stone and brock bungalow selling November 1 for $2.9 million.
The selling price for the 5,000-plus sq. ft. home was $20,000 over asking but $221,000 less than the selling price just 15-and-a-half months before.
The home, nestled in the prestigious Foxfire Estates in Uxbridge, offers 3.03 acres of open space with plenty of mature trees on an extensively landscaped property with multi-tiered decks and a saltwater pool.
Inside is a great room with a 15-foot vaulted ceiling, a gas fireplace, a wall of windows, hardwood floors and a gourmet kitchen.
The finished basement boasts a gym, another fireplace, two more bedrooms and a media room, as well as a bar area featuring a barnwood accent wall.
At #2 is a five-bedroom, six bath home at 557 Marksbury Road in Pickering, just a short walk to Frenchman’s Bay.
The 6,000 sq. ft showpiece home, which sold for $2.54 million – $238,000 under asking – has a chef-inspired kitchen, a fully furnished basement and gorgeous landscaping, giving it wonderful curbside appeal.
Taking the third spot in the most expensive homes sold in Durham in November is a two-bedroom executive home at 10 Tidmarsh Lane in Ajax which sold for $2.3 million.
Numbers four and five on the list were both in Pickering, giving the city three of the top five most expensive homes sold last month. At #4 is a four-bedroom, four bath home at 500 Picasso Court, which sold November 28 for $1.95 million – $149,000 under asking.
Number 5 is a four-bedroom home at 1214 Abbey Road. The property sold for $1,720,000.
