Pickering woman charged in Oshawa restaurant robbery

Police have arrested a 33-year-old Pickering woman who is accused of robbing a Subway with a steel pipe in downtown Oshawa on June 20.

Durham Police were called to the restaurant located at Simcoe Street South and King Street West for the report of an armed person. Police said the female suspect entered the restaurant and made conversation with the employee. The suspect then entered the employee area and armed herself with a steel pipe before demanding the victim open the cash register. The suspect stole cash from the register and fled on foot.

Investigators were able to make a positive identification and arrested her yesterday.

Lindsay Stewart of Greenmount Street in Pickering, has been charged with Robbery; Disguise with Intent and Possess Weapon. She was released on an Undertaking.
