Police charge 16 year-old with three knife-point robberies in Whitby

Investigators have identified a 16-year-old responsible for three knife-point robberies that happened in Whitby in the past month.

On Tuesday, March 8, members of Central West Division responded to a street level robbery near the Whitby Civic Centre on Rossland Road East after a victim was robbed at knifepoint of their cellphone. The suspect met the victim at this location after making arrangements through an online selling app.

Investigators were able to identify a 16-year-old Whitby boy and link him to two other knife-point robberies as well. The youth is charged with three counts of Robbery and three counts of Utter Threats and Possess Weapons While Committing an Offence.
