Durham Police have made an arrest in last week’s Oshawa Centre stabbing that left a teenager with serious injuries.

Central East Division officers responded to an armed person call at the mall Tuesday afternoon, with reports that a young man had been stabbed in the food court after an altercation with another youth.

Police rounded up five teenagers at the mall but all were released without charges, with investigators seeking a sixth teen.

On Thursday members of the Central East Division Criminal Investigations Branch, with the assistance of the Offender Management Unit, attended a residence in Oshawa.  The suspect was located nearby and taken into custody without incident.

A 17-year-old is charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, weapons possession and two breach of recognizance counts. He was held for a bail hearing.
