Police make arrest in shooting north of Oshawa that left man with ‘life-altering’ injuries

Police have made an arrest in the shooting of man at his home in Scugog Township in July that left him with ‘life-altering’ injuries.
In the early hours of July 6 multiple police divisions responded to reports of a shooting near Summit Drive and Cedar Grove Drive in the lakeside community of Caesarea, east of Port Perry.
A 26-year-old man was found suffering from gunshot wounds and airlifted to a Toronto hospital in life-threatening condition.
On Thursday members of the North Division Criminal Investigations Branch, with the assistance of the Tactical Support Unit and K9 Unit, executed a search warrant at a home near Albion Road and Martin Grove Road in Toronto’s north-west corner. A man was found in the residence and taken into custody without incident.
Two additional suspects, who are currently in custody at a Toronto detention centre, have also been identified.
Kwabena Duodu, 21, from Toronto is charged with aggravated assault, forcible confinement, pointing a firearm, possession of a restricted/prohibited firearm, uttering threats, possession of a gun in a vehicle and careless use of a firearm.
He was held for a bail hearing.
