Police raid nets Oshawa man eight drug trafficking charges

A police raid at an Oshawa home has resulted in several drug trafficking charges for the resident.
Witnesses reported a break-and-enter in progress on Sept. 27 up in the city’s northern reaches by Winter Words Dr. and Windfields Farm Dr. When Durham Regional Police arrived and cleared the house, the suspect was nowhere to be found. However, they did find several drugs out in plain sight.
The initial response team called the Drug Enforcement Unit who in turn applied for a search warrant of the home. During the resulting raid, police say they found “a large quantity” of various drugs, though they did not specify their weight or estimate their street value. One man was arrested without incident at the same time.
Jakeb Cargill,. 26 of Oshawa, faces a total of eight drug trafficking charges for cocaine, MDMA, prescription drugs, and unspecified “other” substances. He was later released from custody with conditions.
