Police search for suspect in attempted Ajax carjacking

Durham Police are on the lookout for an armed man who tried to steal a woman’s car in Ajax on Sunday.
Police were called to the Harwood Avenue and Bayly Street area around 7 p.m. on December 5 after a woman entering her Honda Accord was confronted by an armed man.
The man demanded the woman exit her vehicle. However, the woman was able to lock herself inside the car, refusing to leave. The suspect then fled the scene toward Bayly Street on foot.
The victim was unharmed. Police searched the surrounding area to no avail.
Police describe the suspect as male, Black, in his twenties, with a medium build. He was wearing a black jacket with a grey hooded sweater. He was armed with a pistol.
