Ticketing one out of two speeding motorcyclists Tuesday in Pickering wasn’t a bad start, say Durham Regional Police.

Now, they’re waiting for a return call from the other rider.

The incident began when police allege they spotted two speeding motorcycles near Taunton Road and Brock Road.

While they managed to pull one over and charge the driver with motorcycle stunt driving after allegedly clocking the bike doing 133 km/h in a 70 km/h zone, the other motorcycle sped off.

“I got the plate,” a Durham police post to X (formerly Twitter) quoted an officer as saying. “I called you. Call me back, please.”

Police say they will take the win for now.

“One out of two (motorcycles) is a small victory in highway safety,” they said.
