‘Blank rounds’ will be fired this weekend in Oshawa police warn

Durham Regional Police are advising residents of Oshawa that gunshots may be heard this weekend due to an event hosted by the Ontario Regiment Museum.

On Saturday (Jun. 10) The Ontario Regiment Museum will be holding its annual Aquino Tank event at 1000 Stevenson Rd N in Oshawa.

Police are letting residents know that the event will include a re-enactment of sorts which will involve the firing of blank rounds.

Starting in the morning until 5 p.m., those in the area could expect to hear gunshot-like sounds.

Police are aware of the situation and are letting those nearby know that there isn’t a reason to panic.
