Pizza enthusiasts and lovers of Italian cuisine have a new destination to indulge their cravings with the opening of this pizzeria in Oshawa.
Pizza Salvatoré, originally from Quebec with its first shop in Saint-Georges de Beauce, has expanded to 75 locations across the province.
Renowned for its pizza and poutine, the restaurant opened a new location on May 29 at 1295 Ritson Rd N, in the same plaza as the upcoming Rajdhani Sweets and across from the Metro grocery store.
Customers can enjoy classics like the Margherita Pizza and Pepperoni Pizza, or explore specialty options such as the Supreme Pizza, loaded with mozzarella, pepperoni, mushrooms, Italian sausage, green peppers, onions, and olives. Other favourites include the Chicken Charlie pizza, with blue cheese and wing sauce, and the Alfredo Pizza, featuring grilled chicken, artichokes, roasted red peppers, and asiago cheese.
How could a Quebec-based eatery overlook such an iconic staple as poutine? Pizza Salvatore ensures this Canadian classic is well-represented, offering a variety of options beyond the traditional fries, gravy, and cheese curds. Patrons will be impressed by the diverse poutine offerings, which include hot-dog, tao chicken, popcorn chicken, and buffalo. Each can be topped with different sauces, such as bbq and hot sauce.
If you’re craving other comfort foods, there are also chicken wings. Some flavours include bbq, Thai, and honey garlic.
The restaurant also offers Calzones, which are folded pizzas stuffed with meat, cheese, and vegetables.
Pizza Salvatoré, was founded in 1964 by Salvatoré Abbatiello, a young Italian immigrant who arrived in Canada after the Second World War.
According to Pizza Salvatore’s website, the business, now in its third generation, was taken over by five siblings who transformed its operations.
To date, Pizza Salvatoré boasts 81 locations across Canada, including three in Ontario: Coburg, London, and the latest addition in Oshawa.
