Calling all sandwich lovers! A popular sandwich chain is opening another location in Oshawa.

Firehouse Subs, known for its premium meats and cheeses steamed to perfection, is set to open in the RioCan Five Points Plaza at 1295 Ritson Rd. N. (behind the Metro grocery store).

The plaza is already home to two other popular restaurants, Rajdhani Sweets and Pizza Salvatore, which opened this past year.

The shop serves a variety of sandwich options, including the Pepperoni Pizza Meatball Sub, which combines pepperoni, meatballs, marinara sauce and melted cheese for a pizza-inspired twist. The Brisket Hat Trick is a fan favourite, featuring tender brisket, melted provolone and tangy barbecue sauce. For those who enjoy a classic, the Hook & Ladder includes smoked turkey, ham and melted Monterey Jack cheese.

If you’re craving a classic, the Italian sub is packed with salami, pepperoni and Italian dressing, while the New York Steamer combines corned beef, pastrami and melted Swiss cheese. For veggie lovers, the Veggie sub features fresh vegetables, cheese and a zesty dressing.

If none of those options suit your taste, you can always build your own sandwich with endless possibilities.

Along with the sandwiches, Firehouse Subs offers various carbonated drinks, sides like a garden salad, and desserts such as brownies and cookies.

This new location marks Firehouse Subs’ second Oshawa spot, with the first restaurant at 224 Ritson Rd. N.

While the new location’s signage is up and construction inside is well underway, no grand opening date has been announced yet.

In the meantime, if you’re eager to try these subs, you can visit the currently open Oshawa location at Gateway Plaza or one of their other locations at 70 World Dr. in Mississauga or 8205 Financial Dr. in Brampton.
