An exotic twist on a tasty treat comes to Oshawa this week.
eZ Rolls Ice Cream, a Thai ice cream chain with two locations in Hamilton and Burlington, just opened a new location in Oshawa. The shop is opening at at 219 Nonquon Rd.
The “Thailand Street Dessert” ice cream comes in rolls rather than scoops. Although it is made with Canadian milk, the flavours aren’t the ones most people grew up with.
Flavours such as Kaju Anjeer (cashew nuts with figs), Kesar Ilaichi (kesar and cardamom), and Kaju Gulkand (cashew nuts with caramelized rose) are not your standard ice cream fare.

But there are also more typical flavours such as chocolate brownie fudge, Reese’s peanut butter, S’mores and popular fruit flavours like mango, orange, and blueberry.
The unique thing about this place is they make the ice cream right in front of you, Thai style. The ingredients are poured on a freezing surface, and then rolled once frozen.

“The best part is we make the ice cream rolls right in front of you, so you know what you are getting,” eZ Rolls says.
There are also a wide variety of toppings.
eZ Rolls celebrates its grand opening in Oshawa, at 219 Nonquon Rd., on Friday, Aug. 19.
