The Region of Durham, in partnership with The Regional Municipality of York, will be making enhancements to the Waterfront Trail and surrounding area by the Duffin Creek Water Pollution Control Plant. The Waterfront Trail and Frisco Road in Pickering will be closed in stages to complete the work. Pre-construction site works are to begin in early March.

The scope of work is to rebuild Frisco Road and enhance the Waterfront Trail. This work will not impact the operation of the pollution control plant. The two regions have consulted with and received approvals, authorizations and responses from Toronto and Region Conservation Authority, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry, the City of Pickering and the Town of Ajax.
