Properties in Whitby, Pickering sweep list of October’s most expensive homes sold in Durham

Whitby and Pickering properties dominated the list for most expensive homes sold in Durham Region last month, with a four-bedroom home in Whitby’s prestigious Williamsburg neighbourhood at number one.

The custom-built bungalow at 64 Preservation Place in north Whitby sold October 8 for $1,849,000.

The home embodies ‘refined elegance and detailed craftsmanship’ with a gourmet kitchen, an ‘entertainer’s dream’ basement with 9-foot ceilings, a family room, music/rec room and two bonus bedrooms; and a landscaped backyard featuring a saltwater pool and gazebo.

At number two is a 4-bedroom, 3-bath home at 1465 Mockingbird Square in Pickering, with the property fronting a pond and extensive green space.

The home sold for $1,465,000.

#3 on the list is back to Whitby at 11 Road Drive, with the 5-bedroom, 5-bath property selling October 24 for $1,460,000 – $99,000 over asking.

In the fourth spot for most expensive homes sold in Durham in October is a 4-bedroom home at 307 Toynevale Road in Pickering that sold for $1,435,000.

At #5 on the list, compiled by Zoocasa Real Estate, is a 4-bedroom, 4-bath home at 1 Solmar Drive in Whitby. The home sold October 10 for $1.4 million.
