Brock Township is offering a property tax rebate for eligible low-income seniors, with a September 30 deadline each year to apply for the rebate.
The $355 Property Tax Rebate is being offered to home owners, 65 and older, who live in the home and receive the Guaranteed Income Supplement.
Applications and details of the program can be obtained at the Brock Township offices or online.
Similar rebate programs are offered by numerous municipalities around Ontario, including Mississauga, Brampton, Caledon and Burlington on the west side of the GTA and the Town of Whitby in Durham Region.
The amounts vary by municipality.
An energy and property tax rebate is also offered by the Province to eligible seniors, with the amount generally half of the property taxes paid to a maximum of $800.
