The City of Pickering has released a second draft of its Consolidated Zoning By-law to manage land use and future development and is inviting residents to review the draft and see how the new revisions affect them.

A press release from the City states the updated consolidated zoning draft is “accessible and convenient to access,” utilizes modern practices (referencing up-to-date building forms and terminology), and includes updated provisions to manage changes in the City, such as short-term rentals, driveway widening and sustainable design standards.

Residents and business owners are encouraged to visit LetsTalkPickering.ca/zonereview to learn more about the changes and how they will impact properties and future development in Pickering.

Pickering is also hosting two Public Open Houses, with the public invited to drop in:

  • March 12 from 4:30m. – 8 p.m. at Pickering City Hall (main lobby)
  • April 2 from 4:30m. – 6:30 p.m. at Pickering City Hall (main lobby)

The draft will be presented to the Planning & Development Committee on April 2. Those interested can attend the meeting in-person at Pickering City Hall or virtually at YouTube.com/@CityPickering. If you want to register as a delegate, visit pickering.ca/delegation and complete the online request form.
