Raid in Scugog Township find $340,000 worth of stolen goods, illegal guns, cocaine

Numerous charges have been filed against a person from Scugog Township after an OPP raid in Nestleton uncovered $340,000 worth of stolen goods, guns and cocaine in Nestleton.
OPP officers from the Kawartha Lakes and Dufferin County detachments launched an investigation into a string of stolen cars. The investigation culminated in the execution of a search warrant at a home in Nestleton, a small village a few kilometres east of Lake Scugog’s east shore, on August 17.
During the raid police found;
- A 2021 BMW X5 SUV
- two cell phones
- a large amount of cocaine
- more than $80,000 in cash
- two Rolex watch and gold chains
- Numerous car documents
- a restricted Glock 9mm pistol, and
- a restricted Smith & Wesson 40 caliber pistol
As a result of the seizure an unidentified 41 year old person from Nestleton is charged with;
- possession of cocaine with intent to traffic
- two counts of possession of stolen property over $5,000
- unauthorized possession of a restricted firearm
- unauthorized possession of a loaded restricted firearm
- two counts of possession of a firearm with the serial number knowingly tampered with, and
- two counts of careless storage of a firearm
The suspect, who police have not described, remained in custody pending a bail hearing as of the OPP announcement.
