Oshawa snow plows

Oshawa is asking residents and business owners to share their feedback on the city’s winter maintenance operations, with a feedback form available 48 hours after each winter storm this season.

The city said on its website it is “committed to providing a high level of snow clearing services” throughout the winter to ensure the safety and reliability of its roads and sidewalks.

Snow removal crews work around the clock and aim to complete clearing 24 hours after a snowfall ends.

Snow clearing activities, including salting and plowing, are undertaken on a priority basis as part of the Oshawa’s winter operations. The progress of winter snow clearing operations are updated three times a day (morning, afternoon and evening)  to the Snow Clearing Activity Report during a weather event.

You can share your feedback online on Connect Oshawa (connectoshawa.ca/Snow) or on paper at Service Oshawa at City Hall during regular business hours. You can also call Service Oshawa at (905) 436-3311 to request a paper form be mailed to you.

Feedback questions on the form, which will be open until April 1, 2025, may be adjusted throughout the season to better understand resident concerns.

Residents play a key role in keeping Oshawa safe and accessible during winter and are encouraged to:

  • Clear the sidewalk adjacent to your property
  • Pile snow from your driveway and sidewalk onto your property, not on the roadway
  • Not park on the street between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. or during snow clearing operations
  • Keep an area at the curb clear of snow and ice for waste collection – don’t place waste on top of snowbanks
  • Clear snow away from hydrants and catch basins
  • Give plows plenty of room; remember they may have to back up
