Oshawa Telephone Open House

You want your say on what’s happening (and what needs to happen) in Oshawa?

Thursday, September 19 will be your chance when Mayor Dan Carter and senior City staff open the phone lines (landlines and provided cell phones) for a telephone open house.

The one-hour call will include a brief update from the City before opening the lines for listeners to ask their questions about City programs and services, including:

  • waste, green bin and yard waste collection
  • roads, including maintenance and snow clearing
  • parks and recreation
  • the budget
  • sidewalk maintenance and more

Register your cell number before end of day Thursday, September 12 to make sure you get on the call list.

Register your mobile number on Connect Oshawa or by contacting Corporate Communications by email or by phone at (905) 436-5686. You can also join the call the night of the event by dialing 1-800-790-3797.

If you’re not comfortable asking a question over the phone you can submit your question online on Connect Oshawa in advance. The questions must relate to City programs or services.

Programs and services not covered include regional services (regional roads, police and ambulance services, social services, community housing, transit, etc.), as well as provincial and federal services and programs. You can learn more on who does what and the roles and responsibilities of different levels of government at Oshawa’s Government Services webpage.

A recording of the Open House will be available online on the City’s YouTube channel in the days following the event.
