Have you ever been on your way home after a night out, craving a meal that hits all the right spots? I have, and that’s when this hidden gem caught my eye—it was just what I needed!

I’m talking about Frenzy Fusion Restaurant, situated along a busy strip of businesses in the heart of downtown Oshawa at 7 Simcoe St. S.

At first glance, Frenzy Fusion may look like any other take-out spot, but its modest exterior is deceiving. Inside, you’ll find a warm, inviting atmosphere filled with plenty of seating and a menu that takes fusion cuisine to a new level.

Frenzy Fusion’s menu offers a wide array of dishes including signature platters like chicken shawarma, which can be customized with your choice of rice, quinoa, or fries. They also offer a selection of wraps, salads and desserts like baklava, red velvet and tiramisu cakes.

THE DISH:

For this reco, I went in with quite an appetite and decided to sample more than one dish.

First up was the Frenzy chicken platter. The chicken came in large, tender pieces seasoned with Mediterranean spices, making each bite incredibly juicy and addictive.

The yellow rice was perfectly cooked—soft and fluffy—and the generous drizzle of garlic sauce added a rich, creamy flavour that complemented the dish beautifully.

To top it all off, the spicy chilli sauce brought just the right amount of heat, leaving me salivating and eager for more.

To cool down, I had a Mango Lassi (a refreshing yogurt-based drink blended with ripe mangoes)

Next up was the Tandoori wrap, featuring beautiful grill marks on the outside. Inside, the wrap was filled with crisp lettuce, tender chicken, and a surprising addition of pickled turnips that added a tangy crunch to every bite.

At this point, I was quite content and full, but dessert was calling my name, and I knew I had to end the meal on a sweet note.

I opted for the popular tiramisu cake slice, which came with a tiramisu edible chocolate sign on top.

The owner mentioned that this cake slice is so popular it often sells out, requiring them to restock from a Scarborough bakery almost daily.

THE UNIQUE:

Beyond its delicious food and generous portions, Frenzy Fusion Restaurant stays open late every day from 11 a.m. to 3:30 a.m., providing a satisfying meal for those with late-night cravings.

THE VERDICT:

If you’re looking for a dining spot that serves large servings and blends different cuisines with flavours that complement each other, Frenzy Fusion Restaurant is worth a visit. I highly recommend the Frenzy Chicken on rice and the Tandoori wrap. Don’t forget to try their freshly baked cake slices to complete your meal.
