Drivers in Durham Region will be experiencing plenty of disruptions over the next few weeks as summer construction season heats up.
The Region of Durham is advising residents of lane restrictions on Simcoe Street South from Olive Avenue to Avenue Street from July 29 to August 2 for the installation of new water service for future developments.
Drivers are asked to exercise caution during construction for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and work crews while the Region promises to complete the work as “quickly and efficiently as possible.”
Drivers will also be looking at highway disruptions over the next three days, including maintenance at the Highway 401 eastbound on-ramp at Brock Road in Pickering that will close all lanes between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. on those days.
There will also be construction on the highway between Stevenson Road and Simcoe Street in Oshawa that will force the closure of two alternating lanes between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m. until Sunday; and maintenance work on Highway 412 northbound in Whitby between highways 401 and 407 that will have one lane closed from 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. from Wednesday to Sunday.
