Roads closed as woman rushed to hospital following a fire at an Oshawa residence

Durham police have temporarily closed certain roads in Oshawa following a fire at a residence this afternoon that sent one woman to the hospital with unknown injuries.

On Saturday (July 22) police responded to a call in the area of McNaughton Ave. and Ritson Rd S., in the Central part of Oshawa for a fire investigation.

Police confirm that a woman was taken to a hospital, but have not mentioned the extent of her injuries, if any.

Officers say, a Fire Marshall was also called to the residence.

While the investigations are ongoing, police have closed off the area and are asking drivers to use alternate routes for the time being.

Officials have not provided a time when they anticipate to open the roads back up to the public.

UPDATE: The woman who was taken to the hospital is suffering from life-threatening injuries.
