With tickets to the Saturday night Taylor Swift show at the Rogers Centre in Toronto selling on StubHub for as much as $6,000 each, there is a slightly more affordable option for local Swifties.
The Taylor Swift Tribute show, starring Katy Ellis, will crank out all the hits from all eras of the pop megastar’s music, along with explosive choreography and replica costumes that may have you believe – for just a moment or three – that Swift herself was performing an intimate show in the cozy confines of the Biltmore Theatre in downtown Oshawa.
And all for just $$33.90.
Six nights in Toronto is clearly not enough for Taylor Swift fans, with tickets on conventional platforms selling out months ago, and fans can Shake It Off and get their Swift fix in at the Biltmore, on the same night as the real Taylor Swift’s fifth of six shows in Toronto.
The Taylor Swift Tribute by Katy Ellis, presented by Forrest Joes Entertainment, has been performed around the world, with the Biltmore excited to present the ultimate Taylor Swift tribute in downtown Oshawa.
“Our wildest dreams have come true,” the Biltmore Theatre said on social media. “Join us in a night of singing, dancing and friendship bracelet trading. Let’s make the whole place shimmer.”
Ellis, who has been in the business for a decade, said it has been an honour taking on the tribute role. “Impersonating such a strong female icon as Taylor Swift is really a dream come true and I work hard to make sure that it is complimenting Taylor Swift as much as I can. I want the audience to feel like they are at a real Taylor Swift Show.”
Doors open for the all-ages show is 7 p.m. For tickets visit tickets.biltmoretheatre.com/taylorswifttribute
