Cheers to “endless brews and crisp ciders” as the eighth annual Scugog Beer & Cider Festival returns this weekend to Palmer Park on Port Perry’s waterfront.

A dozen breweries and cideries from local to cottage country will be bringing their finest for thirsty patrons to sample, with food trucks and live music to round out the festivities for the two-day event.

The festival, presented by the Scugog Chamber of Commerce, happens Friday from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Saturday from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. Daily tickets and weekend passes are available, with each ticket providing a sample stein and a pair of tokens.

VIP tickets (with extra swag) are also available.

Leah Daniels will headline the entertainment Saturday, with opening acts including Sarah Fazackerly, The Moment and Cale Crowe. Friday’s musical performances include The Brock Street Band and Red Cup Country, with Step by Step handling the DJ duties.

Participating breweries and cideries this year include local favourites Old Flame and Two Blokes Cider; Town Brewery, Little Beasts and Brock Street from Whitby; Sir Monty’s and Dusk to Dawn from Clarington; as well as Stonehooker of Mississauga, Black Fly Beverages, Glory Days Brewing, Boshkung Brewery and Hip Vodka.

Food vendors include Liko’s Hawaiian, Lowland Fire Food, the Sandwich Shack, Coal Pot Jerk and Tiny Tom’s Donuts.

There will also be plenty of games to enjoy, such as Giant Jenga and Connect Fair, as well as a vendor market.

Families with kids (free admittance) are welcome Saturday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Shuttle buses will be running all festival to get patrons to and from Palmer Park.
