Scugog Township wants the public to help design two new parks in Port Perry.

Construction of a new park on Sherrington Drive is scheduled for next year. The park, just under one acre in size, will be between Doctor Archer Drive and Glenhaven Court.

The second park will be located at the northeast corner of Ash Street and Forestlane Way and will also be built next year. The Ash Street park is about a third smaller but includes a 1.5-acre woodlot.

The concept plan for the Sherrington park includes the following features:

  • Open space
  • Paved trails
  • Playground
  • Multi-purpose sport court (basketball, ball hockey, etc.)
  • Trees
  • Benches
  • Garbage receptacle
  • Bicycle ring
  • Privacy berms

The Ash Street park will include:

  • Woodlot
  • Paved trails/ wood chip trails in forest
  • Playground
  • Trees
  • Benches
  • Garbage receptacle
  • Bicycle ring
  • Decorative metal fence
  • Privacy berm

Residents and community members are asked to fill out a survey https://my.scugog.ca/1newpark/survey_tools/1new-park-design-survey-sherrington-dr-and-ash-st to help Scugog planners with the final design.
