A man from Scugog faces stunt driving charges after he was pulled over in Oshawa for driving at over twice the speed limit.
A DPRS traffic officer was stationed in the Columbus Road and Wilson Road North area in the city’s northern reaches when they clocked the driver of a pickup truck speeding at 104 km/h in a 50 zone while passing another vehicle.
The officer observed a school bus in the area minutes before the stop.
The pickup driver, 71 from Scugog, has been charged with stunt driving, speeding and careless driving. His truck was impounded for two weeks and his license was suspended for 30 days, the automatic result of a stunt driving charge.
DPRS requested drivers, “Please slow down!” in their release announcing the stop.
