Search for missing 13-year-old girl underway in Oshawa

UPDATE: Police say the 13-year-old has been located “safe and sound.”

A search is ongoing for a missing teenage girl from Oshawa.

Sophia, 13, was last seen near Harmony Road South and King Street East, a residential neighbourhood in the city’s east, around 5 p.m. on Dec. 19.

She is described as a light-skinned Black girl standing five-foot-six with a slim build.

She was last seen wearing a black velvet tracksuit, hot pink jacket, and pink slippers.

Durham Police are concerned for Sophia’s wellbeing.
