Search underway for missing Oshawa man

Update 5 p.m.: John has been found safe. “Thank you to all for your assistance in this matter,” police said.

A man is missing from his Oshawa home.

John, 72, was last seen near Juliana Dr. and Central Park Ave. However, Durham Regional Police did not specify when. They did say there are concerns for his well-being. Police describe John as a white man with a medium build and greying hair. He was wearing a zip-up sweater and black pants when last seen. He was driving a Ford Escape with the Ontario licence plate CASF-273.

Durham police, like many police services, no longer release the surnames of missing persons.
