Search warrants find drugs, cash and firearm in Oshawa, Toronto, Oakville and Richmond Hill

A loaded gun, a lot of cash and drugs were among the haul after Durham Police executed several search warrants in Oshawa, Toronto and other parts of the GTA.

Two women and a man are facing numerous charges after police allegedly seized $100,000 in cash, fentanyl and a loaded firearm during the searches, which took place at three homes, two storage lockers and four vehicles.

The search warrants, which were executed Sept. 28, were the result of an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Unit.

  • Nicole Del Medico, 45, of Oshawa was charged with six counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, two counts of trafficking a controlled substance and two counts of possession of proceeds of crime.
  • Merwan Hachicha, 30, of Oakville is also facing numerous charges including four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, two counts of possession of proceeds obtained by crime and possession of a loaded prohibited firearm.
  • A third woman was charged with five counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and her charges have since been withdrawn.

All parties were held for a bail hearing.
