Child porography charges

A second man has been arrested following an investigation into the making and exchange of child pornography in Oshawa.

Chritopher Jackson, 30, was arrested August 30 – after being charged and then released a month before – on ten child pornography offences and another eight counts of breaching conditions from a previous sexual offence conviction.

Durham Police found a “multitude” of child pornographic content during the August 30 raid at Jackson’s residence and said at the time they were concerned there were other victims.

That same day officers from the DRPS Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) unit received information that a second Oshawa man was making and exchanging child pornographic content online.

Officers paid a visit to the 38-year-old man’s home, seized multiple electronics and charged him with possession of child pornography, making child pornography and two other child sex crimes. The man was taken into custody without incident.

The name of the accused, who was held for a bail hearing, is being withheld to protect the identity of the victim.

Anyone with information about this or similar incidents is asked to contact D/Cst. Mayhew of the Internet Child Exploitation Unit at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 5502.
