UPDATE: Senior found on Clarington trail in medical distress remains unidentified

An approximately 70-year-old man was found in medical distress on a Clarington trail on Monday. However, no one is quite sure who he is.

The man was found on the Newcastle Samuel Wilmot Nature Trail shortly after 8:30 a.m. on June 17. He was found without vital signs. He was later pronounced dead, police confirmed.

The 2.1 kilometre trail runs through the Samuel Wilmot Nature Area near Cobbledick Road and Fairway Drive.

The man was alone when first responders arrived and was not carrying any identification. Durham Police describe him as white, 70 to 80 years old, about six feet tall and around 175 pounds.

He was wearing dark glasses, a blue/brown/grey/orange plaid button-up short-sleeve shirt, khaki cargo shorts, a leather belt, and brown walking shoes.

Additionally, he has distinct patches of skin pigmentation on his hands and feet.
