Trafficking suspect

A Toronto man faces several sex trafficking charges after a 911 call about a woman who was found in an Oshawa hotel.

Durham Police were called to perform a wellness check at a hotel near Bloor Street West and Stevenson Road South. The 911 caller was concerned for a woman who had been briefly staying in the hotel.

When officers arrived at the hotel, they found the woman in a room with a man; Conrod Webley, age 35 of Toronto.

They arrested Webley for several domestic offences. However, police later came to believe Webley was trafficking the victim and added more charges.

These include;

  • assault,
  • mischief under $5,000,
  • forcible confinement,
  • human trafficking,
  • gaining benefit from sexual services,
  • advertising sexual service,
  • procuring, and
  • withholding documents.

Webley remains in custody pending a bail hearing. Police are concerned there may be more victims and released a photo of the accused.
