Sexual assault investigation underway after ‘inappropriate touching’ at Ajax community centre

Durham Police are investigating a sexual assault after a woman in an Ajax community centre said she was touched ‘inappropriately’ by a man in the women’s change room,

Investigators from the Special Victims Unit are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the unknown man, who was described as Black, 18-20, 5’9” with a thin build and black hair. The suspect was wearing a light-coloured t-shirt and grey sweatpants.

Police said the woman was in the change room at McLean Community Centre on Magill Drive when she was approached by the suspect, who spoke to her and then “touched her inappropriately.”

The woman left the room and went to the lifeguard for assistance before police were called.
