Shooter remains at large after shots fired near Oshawa park

A shooter remains at large after shots rang out near an Oshawa park last Friday.

The gunfire erupted on the corner of Kaiser Cr. and Colborne St. beside the Botanical Garden in central Oshawa shortly before 8 p.m. on Aug. 18. Witnesses in a nearby apartment building report hearing three shots.

Durham Regional Police quickly responded and had the street locked down minutes later. They found the targeted victim in the area who was unharmed. They also found shell casings on the ground. Police did not provide a suspect description.

This is the second shooting in as many days in this area of the city. Shots were also fired on the corner of Rideau St. and Anderson Ave., on the other side of the botanical gardens, on Aug. 17. In this instance, police managed to find a suspect shortly afterwards.
