UPDATE: Shots fired in a residential area of Whitby

UPDATE: Police have now cleared the area. However, the investigation is still ongoing. Investigators believe this is an isolated incident.

Shots were fired in a residential area of Whitby on Wednesday morning.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting in the Garrard Road and Manning Road area, Durham Regional Police said on X Wednesday morning.

Police said they confirmed shots had been fired, however, there are no reported injuries this time.

Reports indicate the shots were fired into a home in the area. Bullets were found in the home and shell casings in the driveway.

Police remain in the area.
