Snapchat date with ‘Moses’ leads to sexual assault in Bowmanville

A Snapchat date with a man named ‘Moses’ went bad in a hurry for a Bowmanville woman, who called police after she said she was sexually assaulted.

Police responded to the call early Sunday evening at a home near Concession Road 3 and Jollow Drive in the north end of urban Bowmanville. The woman told police she met a man on Tinder with the username ‘Alex,’ who connected her with Moses on Snapchat. After “becoming acquainted” on Snapchat, the man visited the woman at her home.

‘Moses’ left the victim’s home on foot before police arrived.

Moses is described as brown, 20-25, 6’3” with a large build. He was wearing a black sweater, green cargo pants and white shoes.

Police have concerns there may be other victims and are requesting anyone with information to come forward to investigators.
