SNOW: Winter parking rules in effect in Oshawa starting Sunday

With a few flurries and possibly some wet snow on their way to Oshawa this weekend it’s a good time to remind residents that the winter parking rules come into effect Sunday.

Winter may officially be three weeks away but the winter parking season begins December 1 and runs until April 1. During the cold weather period on-street parking is not allowed on Oshawa streets from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m. Vehicles can be ticketed or towed during that time, regardless of snow clearing operations or weather conditions.

Vehicles parked on Oshawa streets may also be ticket ed and/or towed at any time while salting and snow clearing is underway. Occasional Use Parking Permits are not valid during salting/snow clearing operations, and all previously arranged permits are suspended during those snowfall alerts.
