One person sent to hospital following stabbing at Durham College in Whitby

One person is suffering from non-life-threatening injuries after being stabbed at Durham College’s Whitby campus today (Sept. 25).

Around 4:55 p.m., Durham Regional Police placed the campus on lockdown for an investigation.

The victim has been transported to a local hospital.

Authorities are asking commuters to choose alternate routes of travel at this time.

Police have not released any other information about the suspect(s) or the circumstances leading to this incident.

The lockdown has now been lifted, however, residents are asked to expect police presence in the area.
